Plenty of food contributed by the parents for the “1 st HC Breakfast” in the Parish Room after Mass

On Sunday 19 th August, the First Wellington Scout Group brought , 33 scouts from Portugal, to a special 5pm. Mass at St. John Fisher Church to celebrate the 100 th anniversary of the scout movement.

The Wellington Group was one of the first. A theme of growth was accentuated during the Mass when all added hands of friendship to a cut-out tree.

On 22nd July, Feast of its patron, St. John Fisher Church celebrated its 70th anniversary since conversion from the former Popham's Almshouses. Mass was celebrated by Fr. Bob, with locally-retired Fr. John Mauret, and 2 of the former parish priests, Fr. Richard Northey and Fr. Timothy Barry.

On Feb. 11th, Cyril Hutchings, husband of our Mary, was received into the Catholic Church by Father Bob at Wellington Hospital , where he was recuperating from an operation.

Pegen and Rosa Reyes'  silver wedding.  On 7th January 2007, they  renewed their wedding vows followed by a buffet of delicious Filipino-style hot food. Both are active members of St. John Fisher's, Pergen as part-time housekeeper to Father Bob, and Rosa being one of the parish ‘Visitors' team
