A parish is a definite community of the Christian faithful established on a stable basis within a particular church; the pastoral care of the parish is entrusted to a pastor as its own shepherd under the authority of the diocesan bishop.  (Catechism of the Catholic Church. 2179)

The parish of St John Fisher, Wellington, and St Richard of Chichester, Wiveliscombe is set in one of the most delightful rural areas in the West Country, nestled between Exmoor, the Quantock Hills and the Blackdowns.

We are a small but friendly community giving a warm welcome to visitors and regulars alike.  An active parish forum means that our many ministry groups are kept busy and appreciated.  Unlike some larger parishes, we always have room for newcomers, who are quickly absorbed into the love and fellowship of our congregation and are able to lend their talents to the good of the community and the work of Our Lord.

The Parish of St John Fisher, Wellington and St Richard, Wiveliscombe, is part of the Catholic Diocese of Clifton.

Our diocesan bishop is Bp. Declan Lang.

Clifton Cathedral is dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul and its address is :

Clifton Park, Bristol BS8 3 BX.
